Serious injuries reported in Highway 68 crash

Injuries were reported Tuesday, Feb. 24, resulting from a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 68 a half mile north of the Salem city limits, according to an online report of Troop I of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A 2008 Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 38-year-old Salem man, was eastbound at 6:15 a.m. Feb. 24 when it ran off right side of roadway, overcorrected, went off left side of road striking a culvert and then a building.
The Salem man suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported by Air Evac to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
The Hyundai sustained total damage and was removed from the scene by Whitaker’s Towing.
